Switch 2 sales fell 37% after the price hike — but Nintendo keeps its forecast
Nintendo sold 6.49 million Switch 2 consoles in six months, down from 10.36 million a year earlier. Lifetime sales have reached 26.35 million.
Nintendo published its results for April–September on November 5, 2026, and Switch 2 hardware is clearly slowing down.
The numbers
Nintendo shipped 6.49 million Switch 2 consoles over the six months — 3.82 million in the first quarter and 2.67 million in the second. That's down 37.4% from 10.36 million in the same period last year. Lifetime sales now stand at 26.35 million units.
The price hike
In early May Nintendo raised the US price of the Switch 2 by $50 to $500, citing higher memory costs and US tariffs.
Profits are still up
Software sales rose 18.8%, and net profit grew 11% year on year, helped by the latest Super Mario movie. Nintendo kept its full-year forecast of 16.5 million Switch 2 units — almost 17% below the 19.86 million it sold last year. Big releases like Ocarina of Time will need to do the heavy lifting this winter.
