Modern Warfare 4's campaign is already live in early access — and players like it

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 doesn't fully launch until Thursday, October 23, but its campaign has been playable since October 16 for anyone who pre-ordered. That early access window gives players a full week with the story before multiplayer and the rest of the package arrive.
A warmer reception than usual
Call of Duty campaigns rarely win over the PC crowd, but this one is off to a strong start: early access user reviews on Steam settled at around 82% positive, a 'Very Positive' rating. IGN called the campaign a "focused, brutal, and genuinely emotional conclusion" to the rebooted Modern Warfare saga.
What to know before October 23
Modern Warfare 4 is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. On Xbox it is a Play Anywhere title priced at $69.99, so the console purchase also unlocks the PC version. It lands the day after Final Fantasy Resonance, making this the busiest launch week of the autumn.
