Final Fantasy Resonance launched on October 22, and it's off to a strong start on PC.

A new Steam high

According to SteamDB, the game peaked at 42,885 concurrent players on Steam — the most ever for a single-player Final Fantasy. The previous best was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with 40,564 in January 2025. (The series' overall record still belongs to the online Final Fantasy XIV.)

Steam users love it too: as of November 1, 96% of more than 2,400 English-language reviews were positive, an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating.

Sales estimate

Square Enix hasn't shared official numbers. Analyst firm Alinea Analytics estimates more than 400,000 copies sold in under five days on PS5, Steam and Xbox — about $20 million — not counting Switch and Switch 2.
