Modern Warfare 4 lands October 23 — one day after Final Fantasy Resonance
Infinity Ward's new campaign moves the war to the Korean peninsula, and the series arrives on Nintendo Switch 2. Digital pre-orders get the campaign a week early.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 — the first Call of Duty on a Nintendo platform since Ghosts in 2013. Digital pre-orders unlock the campaign early from October 16.
The campaign
The story centres on a full-scale North Korean invasion of South Korea, with missions that also visit New York, Paris and Mumbai. You play as South Korean soldier Park Hyun Jun and Captain John Price, while Mads Mikkelsen plays the antagonist known as the Archer.
Multiplayer and DMZ
Multiplayer launches with 12 core 6v6 maps, and the DMZ extraction mode supports 20 squads of up to three players. Infinity Ward has removed hipfire bloom and added new movement options such as hanging and shimmying on ledges.
One thing to know: Modern Warfare 4 will not launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
