Seven weeks to GTA 6: everything the Game Informer cover story revealed
A map twice the size of GTA 5, six regions, localised weather and a brand-new 'Heat' police system — here's what we learned ahead of the November 19 launch.
Grand Theft Auto VI is now less than two months away, launching on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Game Informer's 14-page cover story gave the clearest look yet at the state of Leonida.
The five biggest takeaways
The biggest Rockstar map ever. Leonida is described as twice as large as GTA 5's world, and denser and more interactive too.
Six regions. Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
Local weather. It can be sunny in one part of the state and raining in another, with tropical storms, hurricanes and even rainbows.
Wildlife everywhere. More than 170 animal species, including over 60 kinds of birds and 30+ land mammals.
A smarter wanted system. Six-star wanted levels return alongside a new Heat system: police track you by your appearance and where the crime happened, so changing clothes becomes part of escaping.
